Update: Leicester receive injury boost ahead of Premier League match against Manchester United

Manchester United will face Leicester City next weekend and their opponent received a huge injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash.

United travel to the King Power Stadium to take in Leicester on Saturday, October 16 with the match scheduled for a 3 pm kick-off.

And one player who could be in contention to start is former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has returned to training with his Nigeria teammates following an injury scare while on international duty, Leicestershire Live reports.

The Leicester forward had to be substituted during Nigeria’s game against the Central African Republic on Thursday evening at half-time. Iheanacho appeared to suffer the injury in the 34th minute as he took a shot at goal.

Giving an update after the game, however, Nigeria’s first-team coach Gernot Rohr, while looking forward to the return leg on Sunday, said: “There will be some changes. Already, there are some injuries and I don’t know if Kelechi is able to play because he had a knock.

“We have some players who are tired because they ran a lot and were fighting as always. This defeat will surely make their recovery more difficult.

“They will not sleep well tonight but we have to recover and prepare for Sunday’s game which we must win.”

But following the match, Iheanaco has uploaded a photo to Instagram to seemingly confirm his return.
